Whilst the project appears to have the simplicity of a country home it is a unique and unusual project with the inclusion of a fully self-contained granny flat under the main roof. This adds a future proof approach for multi-generational living for family members to stay together while maintaining independence.

The main house is unique in its design but functional in its layout, featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open-plan living area, and a central activity space. The granny flat is fully self-contained with a kitchen/dining/living area, a separate bedroom, and a laundry/bathroom. Both these homes are linked through a 3-car garage. This allows privacy yet practicality, between the two. At a total area of 338m2, this home is the epitome of functional and spacious living.

The use of Colorbond external linings in darker tones provides a modern and contemporary look, whilst being low maintenance, suitable for rural environments and the BAL19 rating. The simple north facing, L shape design and use of lightweight framings an claddings enabled the client’s budget to be used to its fullest potential whilst achieving their brief and expectations.

In summary, the team was successful in fulfilling the clients brief in more ways than one, not only coming within budget but creating a spacious home that can grow with the family. All of this within a conservative budget. When the clients were asked to describe the overall service received, they replied “Brilliant workmanship, second to none!
